In the Republic of Moldova, there are several options for learning Romanian:

1. free courses, organised as part of public programmes (for example, by the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova)
2. paid courses, offered by public institutions, non-governmental organisations or private providers
3. courses held in person, organised in or near your town of residence.
4. online courses, which you can take from home
5. digital resources and self-study materials, including mobile apps
6. courses or support activities for children, pupils or parents (in nurseries, schools and universities)

1. Contact your nearest Integration Centre for foreigners of the General Inspectorate for Migration
2. Tell them where you live, what your status is in the Republic of Moldova and whether you have studied Romanian before
3. Ask what courses are available in your region: free, fee-based, online or face-to-face
4. Check the enrolment period. For some courses, you can only enrol at certain times of the year
5. Ask what documents are required for enrolment and whether you will receive a certificate upon completion

If enrolment for a free course isn’t open or there are no places available, you can get started in the meantime with:

1. online courses or mobile apps for beginners
2. paid private lessons
3. daily vocabulary exercises for practical situations: transport, shops, doctors, school, work
4. simple conversations with people in the community
