Recognition and equivalence of postgraduate qualifications
In order to practise as a doctor, dentist or pharmacist in the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Health issues a certificate of recognition and recognises postgraduate qualifications obtained abroad.
Required Documents
- Application for the recognition and equivalence of postgraduate studies (Medicine, Dentistry or Pharmacy)
- A notarised copy of the academic qualification and its translation into Romanian
- A notarised copy of the confirmation issued by the institution that awarded the qualification (if this information is not stated on the diploma)
- Notarised copy of the study programme
- Curriculum: original and notarised copy
- Copy of national passport (verified by presentation of the original)
- Residence card/residence permit in the Republic of Moldova
Recognition Procedure
The procedure takes place in two stages:
| STAGE 1 Examination of the documents submitted | STAGE 2 Assessment of knowledge through practical tasks, a written test and an oral examination |
Automatic Recognition, Without Exams
Who is eligible?
| Individuals who have obtained medical degrees from accredited universities in the European Union, the European Economic Area or Switzerland are eligible for an automatic recognition procedure. This procedure eliminates the need to pass equivalence examinations. The automatically recognised qualification entitles holders to practise medicine, dentistry or pharmacy in the Republic of Moldova without any further conditions. |
| Condition: The graduate must not have had a break of more than three years in their professional activity. |
| The equivalence certificate is issued within five working days. |
